Hiking & Dock Walks
The Colombia Wetlands Out-Post is nestled in the Columbia River Valley between the Purcell and Rocky Mountain ranges providing excellent docks and trails to explore. Due to the rising water in summer the area is best explored on the docks and using bridges. Behind the lodge there’s also a short hike up to a waterfall!
You’ll have access all weekend to explore the Dock Walk- whether it’s a morning stroll with coffee in hand, or an afternoon adventure up to the waterfall.
“Follow shady woodland paths through the riverside forest and along our interpretive trails. Along the way you can find fascinating trail signs created in cooperation with local historians, geologists and wildlife experts who share our passion for this unique landscape. Over a dozen of these information markers will help to point out and explain the wonders of the Columbia Wetlands, a Ramsar Wetland of international stature and importance.”-
Head’s up, there are mosquitoes. In early June they are not in full swing yet and manageable.
The Columbia Wetlands is a 15,070 hectare wetland in the Columbia Valley region of southeastern British Columbia, Canada. It was designated a wetland of international importance on World Environment Day, June 5, 2005, and is the thirty-seventh such site in Canada.- Wikipedia
During the retreat enjoy the sun and get out on the water! Explore the Colombia River and wetlands via stand up paddle board, kayak, double kayak, or canoe.
Include access to paddling in your retreat for $23.
Hot tub, campfires, board games…
The Lodge offers cozy places to rest, relax, and socialize with new friends. Karling loves establishing a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone- so you can expect good music, laid-back games, and stimulating conversations. As long as there’s no fire-ban we will make sure to keep a campfire going all evening- s’mores encouraged!
